On 19th of November 2024 the DDS-MAP project consortium partners met the advisory board members to update on project activities and results achieved so far. The meeting was chaired by Willie Donnelly and attended by the honourable members of the board.
After a series of short presentations by respective work package lead partners, the advisory board members shared some valuable insights in relation to the key project results.
- The initial survey results gave a strong base identifying the digital skill gap that paved the way in developing the training curriculum in respond to need of medical and allied professionals. The board recognised the partner’s effort to make the content more engaging to address learners need and flexibility.
- As the translation and testing of the training modules are currently under progress, the AB members emphasised on the adaptation as per the local/country context. More importance should be given to in emerging skills need such as cyber security preparedness, mental well-being, recognition of skills etc.
- As the accreditation of the training is a key part of the project mainly in the pan-European context, the board highlights the importance of developing local/regional strategies to make sure that the universities keep investing in the curriculum in line with the rapid changes in technology in healthcare sector.
- The Virtual reality scenarios (digital twin of a care delivery facility and training modules) developed by Walton institute demonstrated that learner’s engagement and effectiveness of the training increases when such technologies are used.
- The board also highlighted the strategies to widen the reach of the project by extending collaboration with professional associations and quality recognition agencies.
